Carrots:

Carrot is rich in vitamins and minerals. Carrot juice has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which help in protecting your lungs from oxidative damage. By adding some black pepper or cayenne pepper powder to carrot juice, you can make it more effective. To get best results, make it a habit to consume 12 ounces of carrot juice after dinner.

Fenugreek seeds:

Fenugreek tea can help you treat pneumonia in its initial stages. Roast and powder fenugreek seeds and add 3 tsp of this powder to a cup of black tea. Add some honey and jiggery to make it sweet. Ginger:

You can use it in the fresh form or dry it and use it. To get relief from congestion, you can grate fresh ginger root and add it to lemon juice. Add a little honey to make it tastier and sip it at regular intervals. You may also make ginger tea by adding 1 inch grated ginger to 225 ml of water. For getting better results, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or black pepper powder and dried ginger powder to honey water.

Holy basil:

Add crushed leaves of holy basil to eucalyptus oil and inhale its fumes. This will help in thwarting the congestion. Another way is to make tea by adding 5 to 6 leaves of holy basil and 8 to 10 crushed peppercorns. Have it every six houirs. Holy basil and cinnamon tea is also good for treating pneumonia. The leaves of holy basil have the ability to eliminate phlegm from the bronchial tubes and the mucus from the lungs, thus clearing your bronchial system and the lungs.

Oregano oil:

The antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties of oregano oil help in destroying the germs that are responsible for causing pneumonia. It can also remove mucus by thinning it and improving its mobility. This way you will get a congestion free lung. Take a glass of fresh lemon or orange juice and add 2 or 3 drops of this oil. Drink this 3 times a day for best results. If your nose is blocked, you can add a few drops of this oil on a handkerchief and keep it near you when you sleep. The aroma of this oil helps in opening up the blocked passage, thus making it easy for you to breath.

Parsnip:

The juice that you take from the roots and leaves of parsnip can be used for treating pneumonia. This juice is a rich source of chlorine and phosphorous and is beneficial for treating lung and bronchial infections. To get quick relief, you can drink 250 ml of parsnip juice daily.

Sesame seeds:

Sesame seeds are rich in magnesium, which can provide you relief from chest pain. You can make tea by simmering 250 gm of water with 2 tbsp of sesame seeds and 1 tbsp of flaxseeds. Add a pinch of salt and some honey to it. Drink this twice to treat pneumonia. To clear the congestion in your chest and lungs, you can heat a little sesame oil with 2 or 3 pinches of camphor and inhale the fumes.

Turmeric:

The antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of turmeric make it one of the best for treating pneumonia. It is also rich in cucumin and volatile oils. Mix ½ a teaspoon of turmeric powder in warm milk and drink two glasses of this milk daily to ward off pneumonia.
