You all must have heard about carom seeds(ajwain), also called as thymol seeds or Trachyspermum ammi. Have you ever imagined how many uses it has got? Read on to know a few of the numerous benefits one can have from these humble seeds.

Asthma:

To get relief from cold and get rid of mucus and cough, consume carom seeds in warm water. You get instant relief. Consume carom seeds with jiggery twice daily to treat asthma and bronchitis.

Arthritis:

Use carom seed oil to massage on the affected joints. Doing this regularly helps get relief from the pain.

Alcohol Addiction:

Chew carom seeds daily to control craving for alcohol.

Belching:

Mix dry ginger, black salt, and carom seeds, and mix with warm water and cardamom. Drinking this solution treats indigestion, belching, and gas.

Carom Seeds during Breastfeeding:

Make “ajwain aur saunf ka pani” with fennel seeds and carom seeds to make the uterus clean and increase the production of milk. Boil a teaspoon of fennel seeds and half a teaspoon of carom seeds in a liter of water and cool it. Consume the solution daily.

Reduce migraine headache by wrapping carom seeds in a tissue and smelling it. Burning and inhaling these seeds solve problems affecting the head.

Powder some carom seeds ad mix with yogurt to apply on your face. Wash it off after half an hour to lighten pimple scars.

Piles:

Get some dried pomegranate flowers, dried neem leaves and poppy seeds and mix with carom seeds. Put this mixture in milk and drink twice daily if you have bleeding piles. Another useful remedy is to drink buttermilk with carom seeds and rock salt just after having your meals.

Take some carom seeds, fenugreek seeds, onion seeds, and sabot isabgol and grind them together. Every morning, take a tablespoon of this powder on an empty stomach.

Grind some carom seeds and mix some mustard oil with it. Take some cardboard pieces and dip in this mixture. Tie these pieces in the corners of your room to repel mosquitoes.
