Have you heard of cucumber water? It is much healthier than the ‘added vitamins and minerals’ water you get from the market. Cucumber water provides you the vitamins and minerals you need and is a good substitute to sweetened drinks. It also keeps you well hydrated and helps you lose weight as well. Cucumber is full of minerals, vitamins, dietary fibres and phytonutrients. Cucumber water keeps you fresh and active.

Cranberry and tulsi cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 10 cranberries
  • 5 tulsi leaves
  • 2 black peppercorns

Preparation Method:

  • Slice the cucumber and put the slices in the mason jar.
  • Add cranberries also and then add grinded peppercorn and tulsi leaves.
  • Pour water till the neck of the jar and refrigerate overnight.

Coconut cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 cucumber
  • Freshly cut tender coconut water
  • 2 lemon leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of roasted cumin powder

Preparation Method:

  • Cut cucumber into thin slices and keep them in a mason jar.
  • Roast 2 to 3 teaspoons of cumin seeds in a pan.
  • Grind the roasted cumin seeds and store in a small glass jar.
  • Chop the lemon leaves roughly and keep in the mason jar.
  • Add one teaspoon of cumin powder.
  • Now pour the tender coconut water in to the jar.
  • Stir well and keep for 30 minutes.
  • Add ice before you drink this mix.

Citrusy cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 cucumber
  • ½ orange
  • ½ lemon
  • ½ grapefruit
  • ½ inch ginger root
  • ½ tangerine
  • Salt
  • Mint leaves
  • Black pepper

Preparation Method:

  • Cut the cucumber, orange, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine and bergamot into thin slices and put in the mason jar.
  • Roughly chop the ginger and mint leaves and add them in the jar.
  • Now add a pinch of salt and pepper powder.
  • Pour water in the jar till the neck and let the water soak up the goodness overnight.
  • Add ice when you drink this.

Cinnamon and tea cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • ½ cucumber
  • Orange zest
  • 1 green/black tea bag
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Preparation Method:

  • Slice the cucumber and put them in the mason jar.
  • Add the cinnamon stick and orange zest.
  • Boil 1 cup of water and pour in a cup.
  • Dip the tea bag into it and keep it for 3 minutes.
  • Now ad tea water into the jar.
  • Fill the jar with water and stir well.
  • Keep in the refrigerator overnight.

Green sheen cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • ½ cucumber
  • 10 green grapes
  • ½ lime
  • Pepper

Preparation Method:

  • Cut cucumber and lime into thin slices and keep them in a mason jar.
  • Cut the grapes in half and add them also into the jar.
  • Pour water till the neck of the jar.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of ground pepper before you drink it.

Minti lychee cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • 5 lychees
  • 1 cucumber
  • handful of mint leaves
  • ½ teaspoon of nutmeg powder

Preparation Method:

  • Remove the seeds from the lychees and throw in the mason jar.
  • Cut the cucumber into thin slices and put in the jar.
  • Chop the mint leaves and add them also in to the jar.
  • Pour water till the neck of the jar.
  • Now you can add a pinch of nutmeg powder and stir well.
  • Keep in the refrigerator overnight.

Rejuvenating cucumber and lemon water:

What you need:

  • ½ a cucumber
  • 1 lemon
  • Bunch of mint leaves
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation Method:

  • Slice cucumber and lemon into thin slices and keep the slices in a glass bottle or jar.
  • Chop the mint leaves and lightly crush them with salt using a mortar and pestle.
  • Add it to the glass jar.
  • Pour water till the neck of the bottle or jar and keep in the refrigerator.

Strawberry and herbs cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 6-7 strawberries
  • Few rosemary leaves
  • A handful of mint leaves
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation Method:

  • Slice the cucumber and strawberries and put them in the mason jar.
  • Take a handful of rosemary leaves and mint leaves, and a pinch of salt. Gently crush them using a mortar and pestle.
  • Add it also to the jar.
  • Fill water in the jar and keep in the refrigerator or you can add ice and drink it.

Spicy apple cucumber water:

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 green apple
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 2 inch cinnamon sticks
  • Freshly ground pepper

Preparation Method:

  • Slice the apple into ¼ inch wedges and put them in the mason jar.
  • Thinly slice the cucumber and add them also into the jar.
  • Add honey and a pinch of freshly ground pepper.
  • Fill the jar with water till the neck.
  • Add the cinnamon sticks and keep in the refrigerator overnight.

Summery watermelon and cucumber water

Ingredients needed:

  • ¼ medium sized watermelon
  • 1 cucumber
  • A handful of mint leaves
  • 1 lemon
  • A pinch of salt and black pepper

Preparation Method:

  • Cut the watermelon into medium sized cubes and keep them in the mason jar.
  • Slice the cucumber and lemon as well and put in the jar.
  • Roughly chop the mint leaves.
  • Now you have to fill the jar till the neck.
  • Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper powder.
  • Next add the mint leaves and stir well.
  • Put the jar in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Watermelon contains citrulin, which is great for helping the kidneys flush out ammonia, which is a substance that is toxic for our body. Lemon is good for cutting down the extra fat in the body by mobilizing bile from the liver to the small intestine. Mint has a cooling effect. It enables the smooth flow of bile from the liver to the small intestine. After reaching the small intestine, bile helps in breaking down the fats. Mint also adds flavour and relaxes the stomach muscles. Black pepper contains Vitamin E and is good for digestion as well.
