Do you suffer from itching and burning sensation near the eyes? It can be an eye stye(sty). It appears in the form of a small red bump near the eyelash. It is very irritable and mars your good looks. There are home remedies for getting rid of eye stye. First let us have a look at the symptoms of eye stye.

Sometimes the bump may be filled with pus. If this is ruptured, it can cause the infection to spread. Bleeding may also occur. So, you must take proper care and treat eye style immediately. If the occurs again, you must consult a doctor and treat it properly.

  • Poor nutrition
  • Dehydration
  • Poor hygiene

Home Remedies for Eye Stye Infection:

These are some home remedies that are good for preventing and curing eye style in the initial stages and when there is no infection. If there is infection, you must go to a doctor and take his advice.

Acacia leaves:

If the stye is causing you pain, then acacia leaves are best for you. Boil a few acacia leaves in water and then drain out the leaves. Rinse your eyes with the water. Son you will get relief from the soreness of the eye.

Aloe vera:

Aloe vera is very beneficial; for treating sore eyes. Take out the pulp from the aloe vera leaf and place it over your eyes. Leave it for some time. This helps in hydrating your eyes and reduces itchiness and pain. Using this repeatedly provides you immediate results.

A coin:

Take a one rupee coin and wash it well with soap. Dry it and then place the coin between your hands. This will make the coin warm. Place this warm coin over your eye. You will relief immediately.

Castor oil:

The hydrating properties of castor oil make it excellent for treating infections. Apply a few drops of castor oil on the affected area and rub, taking care not to puncture the stye. Leave it for 15 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water. Repeat this till the stye is healed.

Cooked egg:

When heat is applied on the stye, you will get relief from the swelling as well as the pain caused by the stye. Take a hardboiled egg and place it over the stye. Let it remain on the stye for 15 to 20 minutes. The heat that comes from the egg helps in reducing the swelling and also heals the stye.

Coriander seeds:

Boil water by adding some coriander seeds. Remove the seeds from the water. Wash the stye with this water twice or thrice a day. Soon your stye will get healed.

Coves or clove oil:

Cloves are also good for your eye stye as it is an effective disinfectant. Grind cloves to get a paste and then apply this paste from one corner of the eyelash to the other end. Apply some of this paste on the stye also. Now leave it for about 5 hours, till the paste get dry. Be careful not to let it enter your eyes as it may cause a burning sensation.

Guava leaves:

Guava leaves help in providing you relief from the pain and swelling caused by the stye.  To treat stye with guava leaves, you have to warm the leaves and wrap them in a cloth. Compress this on the stye. Do this many two times a day and soon you can reduce the stye. You will also get relief from the pain due to stye.

Garlic juice:

Garlic juice is an excellent remedy for eye stye infection because of its antibacterial properties. Take fresh juice of garlic and apply it on the stye. Take care that it does not enter your eyes as it may sting your eyes. Wash with lukewarm water after the garlic juice gets dry. This will reduce the pain and swelling.

Onion rings:

Onion provides you relief from the pain caused by eye stye. Slice onion and put the slice over the eyes. This helps in speeding up the heeling process. Another way to treat eye stye is to chop onion. This will cause water to come out from your eyes, which can hydrate your eyes and get you relief form pain. It also removes dirt and dust particles from the eyes, which are responsible for causing infection.

Potato peel:

Peel potato in a double eye shape and then put it on the stye. You get relief from pain as well as the swelling. Do this twice a day for fast recovery. Usually you get results within one day of using potato peels.

Tamarind:

Soak tamarind seeds in water for 12 hours and then rinse your eyes with the water. Do this twice a day.

Tea bags:

Warm tea bags are excellent for treating eye styes. Place warm tea bags on the stye till the tea bag becomes cool. If the stye happens to be inside your eyelid, then you can keep the bag over the lid. It helps in getting you relief from the pain caused by the stye and also reduces the swelling within 48 hours. You can do this treatment twice a day.

Turmeric:

Turmeric has antiseptic properties. Take a glass of water and mix a pinch of turmeric in it. Rinse your eyes with this water twice a day. You will soon get relief.

Water and salt:

Boil one liter of water and then add 2 teaspoons of salt in to the water. Let it cool a little. Now dip a towel or a soft cloth in to this water and compress the affected area with the towel. Leave the towel for 20 minutes, till the towel has lost its warmth. Do this twice a day till the eye stye is cured.
